Auto Power Windows
Hey everybody.
I'm a new Z4 owner - actually, a new BMW owner so I'm trying to tap your guys' expertize. Found the other day that both windows both auto down and auto up. Today, the passenger auto up wasn't working, but down is fine. Anybody else find this? Thanks. |

Both of my windows auto up and down from my driver side switches. I don't know if the passanger side auto ups from the passangers switch or not. Don't forget the switch is dual function, partial engage the window works while you hold it, full engage past the click autos the window up or down.
On the never tried it before side, I didn't find out untill this week that the windows and top will go down by just holding the unlock button on the remote. Of course the top and/or windows will go up by the key in the locking position. |

Do note, however, that neither window is auto up or auto down with the door open. Go figure. |

My passenger auto up quit working about 2 weeks ago, Driver side auto up/down, pass auto down. Wierd thing is, is that both pass. switches have the second click for the auto up feature. Should I have it looked at or leave it be?

Mine are both auto up and auto down. Once in a while the auto features stops working. I re-initialize them and then they work again. I believe the easiest way to do this.
1. Start with window rolled up. 2. Roll the window down all the way with the button fully pressed down unitll it clicks, hold the button for 2 seconds. This tells the car that this is the bottom. 3. Roll window up with the button fully pressed up unitll it clicks and hold the button for 2 seconds. This tells the car this is the top. Now your auto up down should work.

It worked for me a couple of times.
I guess it was dumb luck that did it.
