Very cool clip, would love to have read what he was saying, i have to say the car looked very uncomfortable on that tighter section.... heavy lurching/roll with under and oversteer in the same corner at one point, would love to see them try again with a properly tuned car.

From what I understand he rates it lower than the (automatic!) 3.0si?!?
I'd like to know why....

That a japanese car wins is no surprise (being a japanese show)

Maybe they talked about the balance of the car or something?

Interesting video, is there anyone that could translate what they're saying?

Haha. The run in the Cayman preceding the Z4M looks boring by comparison. Watching him pull the Z4M all over the road reminds me of the Top Gear comparison:

"What you need to do is grab it by the scruff of the neck..."

I don't understand a word either, but by looking at his body language I can tell he doesn't like the oem progressive springs in the curves.

still, they can't be worse in their professional opinionmaking than top gear......(bunch of tossers).
Top gear is a sitcom without any structural content.

Of course it is. Just a bunch of man-children cocking about in cars. I envy them!

I'd love to have their job (and even more: their salary), but if I had, I would feel ashamed if I called myself an automobile journalist. I'd call myself an entertainer. So what they think of the z4m (or any other car) doesn't particulary interest me.
The only thing interesting (from a car perspective) on that show is the power lap, as it builds a nice database of car performance with video documentation about the conditions.

I still like to know why that japanese racing driver didn't prefer the z4m over the 3.0si with auto tranny.

I will try to get with my friend who is a Japanese translator to give it a go, record what he says and post the results around the weekend. The fact that he ranked the Z4M lower than the 3.0si shows he has some kind envy or negativity for a more competent car than his homeland can offer.

I'm very curious what kind of silly excuse he has to give. But i can guess he will say the Z4M engine is heavier, therefore makes the driving experience worse. I want a less biased show, because i feel like he's trying his best to keep Japan on top. Because alot of people hang on what he says as fact without having a second professional opinion, and therefore sways the car market.

Stock suspension on this car is garbage with it's crashing, pitchy/floaty unstable feeling. ANY upgrade in suspension components (even lowly H&R springs) is a vast improvement. It's no surprise to see everyone bitch about this and the stock tires. Wish guys like this would actually take out the 'revised' version and re-review.

Stock suspension has poor roll control and really feels under sprung on track.
