Evolve Tune - Black Friday special 10% off Ends this Friday 12/7.
Ladies and Gents, I wrote an e-mail to the evolve team to ask them few questions. One of them was if they had some soar of end of year specials and Jaime - nice enough is willing to extend the black Friday special if we get another group buy soon.
Another question I asked was: If I get a tune and few months later I decide to change my section 1 for cat-less, would I have to get the tune updated? The answer is Yes and for another $150, but Jaime recommends that I order my new section 1 now and he'll configure my tune for straight pipes the first time and save me the $150.... Nice! So - if you are interested in tuning your Z4M or s54 engine, add your name to the list so we can all get 10% off. 1-JeffChaPz 2- 3- 4- 5- Last edited by JeffchaPz; 12-03-2012 at 08:59 PM.. |

Well, I know the price is $799 and I'm not sure if tax is added, but you'll save $80 and I believe the hand held unit is shipped to your house for free. Something else that Jaime mentioned is that if you are not 100% happy with the tune - you can send it back and you get your $$$ back. |

Not exactly...
There was some discussion on dyno methods & adaptation time etc. I love to see more imperical data. That will be the deciding factor for a final commitment on this for me. Thing that I find strange is that there were about 18 guys in on the first GB & so very little in the way of feedback.

I'm not trying to sound like a lil B**ch but the fact that no one from evolve is answering the question - is making look the other way. Johaness - do you mind sharing what you know about the tune? good or bad. Thanks! |

^its in the original GB thread. (18 Z4Ms)
Zubi had an issue that forced him to return the tune. A couple of others had what looked like rich running cars. There was discussion on post-tune dyno methods and ECU adaption time. ....nothing conclusive one way or the other.

^^^ WHS. http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=694589 (Need to go to page 15ish)
Two ppl have/had too-rich tune issues and reverted back to stock. The rest (for the most part) have been mysteriously MIA. |

Not to thread jack, but it should be pretty useful.
Im as i was before i got the tune, minus a valve adjustment. Dave went from US headers and sect 1 catless, to no cats at all plus tune. SO: We will see about how much power difference the tune will grant, and also how much of a difference no cats is to only headers. IM EXCITE |

I organized the last GB, and I've been too busy to go get a dyno. And I hate giving info without data, as I know how easy it is for one to fall to placebo effect. As soon as I get some free time I'll get a dyno and give you guys at least an "after" picture. Just wanted to explain why some might be mysteriously mum on the topic.
gferil posted his dyno and he had some nice gains.

Don't meant to give them a bad rap - but where is the great customer service that everyone talked about ? With that said and evolve out of the picture for me - who do you recommend or who do you think has a good tune for our cars? |

ESS has always been the deaf to standard for tunes being one of the 1st.
Known to be somewhat on the conservative side. They have recently dropped their tune prices. The only thing I've found is they don't seem to have a lot of interest unless you're spending big $ to go FI. I've sent several emails that have gone unanswered.
