Some of the carbon intakes, such as Gruppe M, supposedly give a similar note. I haven't heard one in person.

On my previous e46 i installed vmax coil over suspension. They were garbage and destroyed the cars handling. Looked great and sold for a profit but it was terrible

Tekarbon CF rear spoiler. The resin has peeled a fair bit and it has been a pain to deal with. Wish I didn't use betalink on it otherwise I would've tossed it. New it looked really nice, just didn't age well.

It is funny you say that as the exhaust on the MR/MC is different from the M3's and quite subdued in comparison. I actually prefer the exhaust sound of the stock 3.0si. I put Remus cans on my car and like it better now($1,000 - for used cans- for a sound modifying mod).

After owning that car, I learned my lesson and I only did subtle and tastefully mods to my following BMWs. |

19" morr VS8.2's signature black wheels - these guys need a new home. Look great but the 19's where the wrong choice for this guy. Last edited by sabbanick; 10-02-2015 at 09:22 AM.. |

Add me to the Diablo haters club. Except... it's a love/hate relationship. The car sounds super serious (not rice), which I like, and it's definitely a small power increase due to the straight-thru design. I'd like to swap out for a slightly more reasonable sound, but it's not high priority.

Interesting topic...
I wouldn't say I regret the purchase, but my VMR VB3s were a rushed purchase and I wish I would've waited to get something else. At the time the deal was just too good to pass up. Currently, Evolve is looking into why I'm losing power and hopefully can find something, and that will be my #1 regret/hate

Radar detector mount that goes on the rear view mirror (blocked the view too much). Leatherz center console, just did not work for me. Still have both, just not in the car :-)

I can't believe I just thought of this, or that no one beat me to it: DKF Section 1. I know Doug jumped through hoops to try to make all of the problems right but it took FOREVER and in the end I ended up with an expensive, mismatched (some coated, some not) set of parts. None of which performed the purpose that was intended. I just sold my set to someone last month for less than half of what I had into it. I certainly hope it works well for them.

LOL. I've read that others loved their DKF setup so hopefully you can make it work like others have. |

All issues with the DKF Section 1 are well documented. If I didn't live in CA and have to deal with their emissions I'd be running the part right now but unfortunately I do and the parts did not deliver on their initial promises. That doesn't mean they're worthless or that there is necessarily anything wrong with them. They just aren't worth what we paid for them initially.
As for the color...I paid quite a bit to have mine ceramic coated but after the mountain of fixes the final replacement parts weren't coated. I don't care about the color. Just wanted what I paid for.

Fender rolling
Great thread!
Mine would be rear fender rolling to fit wider wheels/tires. Typically fender rolling works well and results can look OE when done right. The issue with the z4 rear wheel arch is that more than half of it is plastic. Even if you roll the metal fender portion perfectly, it never matches up with the arch of the side skirt and bumper portions. To get it perfect reforming the side skirt and rear bumper needs to be done. IMO, time and money would be better spent on fabricating "wide body" rear fenders, bumper & side skirts that look OE. Then get some real meat under there like 345's Fender rolling works well if the only goal is to fit wider tires/wheels, but to me it takes away from the form of the rear wheel arch.
