fr8t..... man ess just got back to me Re the vt2....... i cant say im not slightly dissapointed, the pricing for an upgrade kit from the vt1 is 3150usd...

so for me that 1950gbp..... imo thats WAY to steep for a simple upgrade kit, arhh dunno, maybe im not being realistic but i feel thats really steep as i alredy have 85% of the kit needed, all i need now is the cooler, the oil cooler, and the pulley/tune. im almost certain i can get a custom intercooler, with custo oil cooler and associated pipework for around 1000gbp.... i can then buy a pulley from vortech for $50, the belts are generic off the shelf items, that would leave me to buy a tune, im certain i could replicate this for under 1100gbp.

kinda disspointed vt1 owner here........

i asked ess to keep and eye for used vt2 s54 parts for a cheaper unit price, looks like im going custom, by the time ive added import tax we talking 2500GBP

nope they wouldnt budge 1 cent, i suppose they know they are the only ones offering power upgrades for this car...... they don't need to lower prices.....

i cant say i wasnt dissapointed, but i REALLY want the extra power more to the point i feel the intercooler is very much needed, i cant lie heat soak with the vt1 is immense.
Once ive been on track and lay the thing in the pits, i cant touch the blower, i can't imagine where my AiTs are...... Still VT1 has been fabulous, completly painfree and literally plug and play, i always said after a year ill go vt2..... here we are a year on, as long as they ship to me asap, ill have this on very soon.

looking forward to the torque that vt2 offers, i feel this is what the car needs most.

fr8tdog..... how is your stock clutch holding up? im wondering when were going to need to think about upgrading, then again the way the centri makes boost is so smooth and drivetrain friendly it may last a long while, but obviously shorter than o.e.m.

the centri isnt making boost till 3900 ish so the gradual loading on of A psi per every 500rpm or whatever it is very gently on the clutch ect ect

But we are still runnning alot more power...... any ideas on this fr8t, whats your mileage.......

imm bulding up quite a few un answered questions, so im guessing your ridin the mile high club right? ;-) lol

Sorry for the late response. mile high club unfortunately not many opportunities for that flying rubber dog shit out of Hong Kong
I have about 19000 miles and I have zero issues with clutch. When we go to VT3, now that's a different story. ESS will have to come up with a fuel pump capable of that much power. They may have to fabricate something for fuel pump hanger..not sure, but as of yet they have nothing to offer in regard to an upgraded fuel pump. The fuel psi regulator is in the tank and part of the stock fuel pump, so it could be tricky. I'm actually replacing my fuel pump and filter today as I noticed a lean condition up top which wasn't there before. V2 SS step headers go on Monday. Congrats on the VT2...you will lhttp://www.aemelectronics.com/1-gallon-water-methanol-injection-kit-691ove it! Here is a link to AEM water/meth kit, let me know when you do this so I can provide some input. Cheers

ooops try this. sorry. This is all you really need for what you're doing. I used my washer tank to hold my 50/50 water/meth, which can also be used as washer fluid just install the low level warning into you're washer tank.

You should have no problem with the stock pump. I think I may have had a partially clogged filter. The labor was enough that i decided to change both the pump and filter. This problem I had really illustrates the importance of a wideband gauge when you go forced induction. I also noticed my egt's running higher which my gauge showed me almost instantly. I have no doubt these gauges saved my motor. My fuel psi gauge sending unit is out until I can replace it. If that gauge was working I would have been alerted to this problem instantly. I will never go without a wideband, egt and fuel psi gauge ever. These 3 gauges will save you a ton of money from engine damage. I recommend a wideband at a minimum.

Sorry guys..haven't been on the forum for awhile. AFR's will generally be high to mid 12's early and taper toward high 11's at peak torque which is around 6000rpm, around 11.9 -12 until 7500 and increasing to high 12's at redline. If you see much over 13 at redline I would be concerned. When you glance at the AFR gauge as you zip through through rpm band, a good number to see before shifting to next gear is mid 12's. One thing you need to consider is where your AFR's are being measured in relation to cats. If you have stock headers, you are most likely measuring post cat and that could give you a .5 higher reading then I described. If you have catless headers then you will be reading pre cat and those numbers will show closer to what I described. If you're seeing 11's-12's you are very safe, if you see 13 or higher at WOT...you got a problem. I think an egt gauge is a very good idea as well. Once you learn what egt's your car normally produces on a known good tune, it becomes very easy to recognize issues.

congrats!!! you will love it. Again, in general you should see 12's for afr with some high 11's. Look forward to hearing about your impressions and results.
