I basically said: " here is 3000 large towards R&D plus its yours, all I want in return is a write up, pics, and lots of miles logged."

to no avail.

No point since that would leave me with an extra driveshaft floating around and about 1200.00 lighter. Id rather put that towards someone elses CF DS and let them keep it, as long as I get all the tech specs from the fabbers

Hmmm this sounds very interesting...my car is just sitting around doing nothing for the winter wouldn't mind getting some money for letting someone use my driveshaft for R&D for a carbon fiber one.

My friend actually made a carbon fiber driveshaft for his senior design project for engineering and we basically came to the conclusion that the advantages of a carbon fiber driveshaft are hardly worth while

I'd be curious to see why your friend came to that conclusion. The WRT dyno posted earlier showed a gain of 3.6% hp, so 5% might be optimistic. But still that's 10-15hp on a stock car.

What other ways can one increase that much hp on our cars? Besides headers... Full CSL treatment only got BMW to 360, that's only 10-20hp more than headers. Unless you go FI there's not many places to gain.

Maybe they came up with that number on their website in a FI app. Maybe Light weight Flywheel? IDK

WRT? Not sure what car that is... If its AWD, they have more powertrain losses than RWD cars

Because the torsional load of carbon fiber isn't any better than steel and the harmonics are worse so it really only gives you an.advantage in rotating mass. Which I agree is important but what's the price on a.cf driveshaft

Where are you getting your info? According to these guys their solution has 3 times the torsional load of steel. And as far as everything I've read, carbon better dampens shock, so I'm not sure if the harmonics are worse either.

Looks like they're also in Florida. Anyone in Florida want a free carbon fiber driveshaft?
