tom... any updates?? broken complete yet?

why why why have you not checked boost on this thing?? you could be running 5psi and not know??? p.s the ess clamps are rubbish and are notorious for coming loose...... a boost check needs to be done weekly if you havent got a boost gauge.

I'm putting on a bigger silicone coupler in an hour, I'll get the boost checked when I dyno it, hopefully sometime next week.

How well does this compensate for altitude changes? Alpha-N can use any number of sensors, but I'm not totally sure all it's equipped with. My daily commute involves 2,000ft of altitude changes (at least three good "ear pops" :-P), so I've been curious for a while.

Use T-bolt clamps from Ebay rather than standard hose clamps.

All my boosted cars blew hoses until I installed the T-bolt versions.

I ordered this piece to solve my only issue. The car runs fine without it, but I'm obviously getting little to no boost right now.

Should be easy, breazy, beautiful after that

nice piece........ i simply lengthen the boost pipe slightly as i wanted to keep things as neat a possible, this however will do exactly the same thing :-) very nice looking piece...... you wont need all that lenght so maybe cut alittle off the long end, job done, nice solution, my lengthening solution is OTT, but then im a OTT kinda guy :-)

FFS i cant wait for one of you guys to give me your impressions on this thing :-)

Roman told my shop that that piece is 2.5" to 3". So we picked one up locally, but had to return it. Obviously the wrong size as it was way too tight to fit over the black intercooler pipe. *sigh

Right now my car has a half open pipe at the airbox, and sounds like a gattling gun at full throttle. hahahahaha. i don't mind, I just don't like the idea of unfiltered air getting in, so I'm not driving it much

The ebay piece I found also has walls that are about 2x as thick as the ess piece

I had no boost leaks on my first day out, so I did get a short impression of the potential. It was fantastic. Thats why I'm not stressing over this situation

I hope we ordered the correct diameter piece and that it fits, because Roman@ess said its a 2.5" to 3" reducer, which we tried on because there was one available, and it was too tight to fit

Thats what I tried. Maybe because the walls were much thicker (5 layers vs 2), it would not fit because it is less flexible. I also lined up the ESS elbow to the other 2.5" pipe, and there was definitely a difference in diameter, I'm betting its .25". Maybe because it stretched?

yeah thats makes sense and ess's pipe is alot more plyable, you can really stretch it....

your new one just put something really thick in their to stretch the silicone :-)

Shouldn't be a need to stretch the new one, since it'll be 2.75" at the intercooler pipe. Sounds like ESS in Norway will re-imburse me for the new intake elbow I'm buying (hopefully?), and depending on fitment, may use something similar for all future kits as per our recommendation
