Hi guys, just got this new app and it is so usefull, It read real time information from the ecu via bluetooth.
I downloaded this plug in called Track Recorder and ran at the local drag strip.

IDK It wasn't synced perfectly, I think i need to calibrate something, this was the only run that didn't measure 0-60, 1/8 neither

Too bad it didn't record. It would be interesting to see any differences between this and the track timing system and if it's any good.

And is it me or do the revs (by ear) absolutely don't match up with the dial?
When you shift from 2 to 3 you're driving about 50mph... that's a bit low isn't it? Should be more like 60(+). Is it lagging or are the actual values completely off?
So something isn't communicating properly in your system, or the data doesn't belong with that particular race. (shifting at 6400rpm seems low. If it would get the right samples, but late, it would still give the correct value I think?).
Strange readings, like you live in a slow motion world or something (like taking some obscure party pills )

Is that a crack in your windscreen btw?

I have had Torque for a couple of months and used it at a couple of track events.

When you use 'RacingMeter' be sure to set up the gearing defaults for your profile or the app will not show what gear you are in or when you shift.
You can set up the logging defaults for a more precise logging interval. Also, the quality of the bluetooth ODB adapter is the biggest factor here. Cheapo readers have issues.

The one PID that the app does not have and I cannot find on the internet is the BMW PID code for engine OIL temp.

Well I just wanna show how the app works, It wasn't my best try at the drag strip. I was just having fun, and a friend of mine uploaded this video, it read the 0-60 and 1/8 in other videos
It also has other things

The track time was different, it read low 10's and i did hi 9's in other runs.
Definately it didn't match
I just changed to a faster communication in settings maybe it can fix it,
And yes I already called the insurance company to fix the windscreen.

I'm going to check that.

Thread from the dead.

I had an ELM327 adapter like this that worked with my 2008 Jetta and now my 2013 Cadillac.

But it doesn't work with the 2003 BMW Z4.

Can someone suggest what OBD2 read (bluetooth or wifi) they're using?

I am using the same reader and it works for me. However I have not tried extensively.

I also have the same one and for me it works fine in the z4 (2004).
It displays the obd2 live data and can erase the codes (P codes, so engine related only)

But I only have it as a backup (when I'm away or so), if I diagnose at home I always use INPA or ISTA

Guido do you have any idea how to make Torque to read the Air Fuel Ration? Because mine is not receiving anything about this.

I have DashCommand, and I'm pretty sure the software calculates AFR based on other inputs.
Seems to do a decent job of it. It's right at 14.7 when in closed loop.

I use a similar one on the M coupe and it works fine but it being bluetooth does disconnect quite often. It has a white body.

I tried Bluetooth and it also disconnected all the time.
Wasn't sure if it was the ELM, or the fact that I was using a jail-broke iPod with an aftermarket Bluetooth hack app.
Solved by going to WiFi.

Only problem I have with wifi was if you wanted to check a code on the net while connected to the car you can't.

True.
The iPod I use in the car is an old hand-me-up from my Son with a broken battery, broken home button, and broken 3.5mm jack.
It does dedicated service as aux instruments in the car.
