Don't give up quite yet. Write a letter to the dealership's general manager telling him how "disappointed" you are and that you will be taking your business elsewhere. Point out to him that you are also writing a letter to BMW N/A unless he meets you halfway on the charges to "diagnose" a problem caused by one of BMW's (recommended) shops and that you are writing a letter to the BBB about the incident, how poorly you were treated and that you want full recompense for your troubles. While you’re at it write a letter to whoever handles consumer affairs/fraud (auto repairs) in your state.

I know this all takes some time, but not as much as you might think. It will be therapeutic for you and just may result in some cash back in your pocket and who knows, it may even end up giving a black eye to the guy(s) who thought they could treat you like a "girl." Good luck.

Yeah, writing the dealership and cc'ing BBB, Attorney General helps out a ton!!! Places are really willing to bend over backwards when they see there might be other people like that involved.

It helped me out with an apartment claim problem I had a few years ago.

It does help for sure. I had an issue with a dealer, and they didn't want to do what they have to. I sent an email to BBB and BMWNA over the weekend. Monday morning dealer called me
