non-adjustable end links...

i need to remove my kw clubsport from struts to tighten the top nut , both sides need re-torquing, now, as the clubsports come with non-adjustable end links is their any point to me lowering the car onto its wheels before i tighten up the end links?

i mean as their no adjustment to them I'm guessing this won't matter, surely if theirs pre-load theirs pre-load. i did it last time with the car on the floor and it was a pure pain in the ass to do, this time I'm wondering if theirs much point as they aren't adjustable to remove any pre-load anyway.

incidentally the KW instructions show the end links being installed with the car in the air.

opinions please ?

In the air for reasons mentioned above. You do need adjustable links, but I know you already know this.

yeah i know all the reasons for doing them on the floor with adjustable end links but was unsure if its worth the hassle on non adjustable links.... its a really pain in the ass to do while the car is on the floor!

i was pretty sure it made no difference with non adjustable links however. It always surprises my these coil over instructions never even mention doing these on the floor.

Since the drop links are non-adjustable, it makes no difference. For adjustable drop links you need the car loaded on its wheels and that job is best done on a ramp to dial our any preload.

i thought so... so i completely wasted my time doing it on the floor the first time round like a utter idiot, lol, i should have realised with non adjustable items it makes no difference.

id like to buy some adjustable ones and fit them soon, where are you guys buying these from?
