question: Z4M trade for?
Would any of you give up your Z4M for a: Cayman GT4, Shelby GT350, or M3/4? Just a thought as I've suddenly become enamored with all 3 of these. Thoughts?

Ideally you would KEEP the Z4M and get another car, but if it were me, I'd go for the M3 or the M4.

If you were talking even-steven then yes. I would consider the GT4 and M3/M4. However if you take price into consideration, no way!

The mustang GT350 for sure specially for track involve. Next would be the GT4. Both incredible sport cars. The Z4M is iconic but so are those 2. Specially the R version of the GT350

Having driven an e90 M3 with a manual, and a 435i Msport or whatever the fuck they call them now (in addition to an e90 335i dinan S2, multiple X5's, plus a 5 and a 7 series), I will not be upgrading to a newer BMW. They were all completely soulless in my eyes, if you're after something fast around the track then maybe, yeah maybe it would be ok... But if the new M4 is anything like the e90 or 435i I drove? Stay away. If you want a sportscar though, buy the Porsche or keep the Z4M.
If you want a cruise around town car, the Merc C63 is hands down, over and over again the more entertaining car to daily in comparison to the M3. It might not be as nimble around the track but it destroys it in sound, comfort, feedback, and (subjectively) appearance. From what I hear the Mustang lacks some in feel, but at the drastically lower dollar for the given performance it's a good buy. Also it has torque, which any proper street car needs. Our Z's are lacking but I feel they're ok as they are because it's a light, nimble, proper sports car. If it had the 3600lbs+ of the M, it would need more bottom end. |

Nope, keep the Z4M. Nothing else interests me, worried about far more things right now than a car. Besides, I love my car and I'm part of the 0.1% of the population of this world who could own one. 2.5 billion people on this planet don't have running water, so I'm keeping things in perspective yo.
I'm happy with what I've got. ;D |

My opinion (with your money, ha ha - this is an internet forum after all!): If you want another car, throw some mothballs in the Z4M coupe and buy the additional car. I don't think I could part with mine. I NEVER buy cars as investments, but for me the Z4MC is the last of this type of BMW - NA inline six (and the S54 at that - a legend), manual transmission only, hydraulic steering, etc. Kind of why I'll never get rid of my E39 M5 (substitute S62 8 cylinder for the S54). These cars just "got it right" and will never be produced again.
I like new cars as well, and am looking forward to adding an M2 or, if that doesn't work out, a F80 M3. All that said, if in some fantasy land someone offered a straight up trade for a Cayman GT4, there is no way I could resist. From everything I've read, and knowing Porsche, that car is an instant classic.

As long as I had another DD like a truck or SUV, the only thing I would trade my Z for is a Morgan 3 wheeler. At the moment at least.

Just a bit more perspective on this, it was a beautiful cool morning today and I took the longer way into work (highway) with the windows down and the sound of the Magnaflow exhaust in me ears and thought.........what the hell do I need anything else for? I'm good with what I have, it's perfect for me. Wife also owns an E46 M3.

I am interested in seeing what you can actually buy a GT350 or the GT4 for. Without knowing what they cost it is hard to recommend one of them. If the money doesn't matter I would get the GT4. At this point is the GT4 a $130k car or more?

We have very different tastes. I'd rather get a Can Am Spyder or even a Polaris Slingshot. It's the motorcycle for guys whose wives won't let them buy a 2 wheeler.

Eh, matter of opinion. Most people I know would call them an open wheel car more than a motorcycle, and at that point buy a real bike for less and spend the extra an storage to keep it out of the wife's sight.

I only started calling them motorcycles recently when I found out you can't drive one without a Class M license in Massachusetts. BTW, I love your idea of stashing the motorcycle off-site haha.

My ex hated my bikes (and cars eventually), so I got creative in finding reasons why I was going out hahaha. The Polaris Slingshot is actually not that bad of an idea, but I can't get behind the Can-Am's at all. Now the KTM Crossbow? That could be something alright!
The new lady is awesome, she enjoys the bike and even more so some hard driving in either of the cars. I'm calling her a keeper!
