Keyfob covered under warranty?
I have an 07 z4 M Coupe. My two keyfobs no longer work. Went to the dealership this morning and the SA said keyfobs aren't covered under warranty which I think is BS. All they did was reprogram the keys but it still doesn't work. I only have 16k miles on the car.

The key Fob on my 3 series stopped working, they initially told me it was not covered under warranty. After talking to the service manager they covered it, my advice to you is go up the ladder! The fact is, it is covered under warranty.

I JUST got my keyfob replaced on Friday, under warranty. I did it through BMW Northwest, and they didn't give me any trouble. They tried to re-initialize the key first and determined it would not work. Then they used a master key and initialized it to make sure my central locking was working (which it was) and were able to conclude the key was bad. If your dealer won't cover it, I can fax you my invoice showing the work.

That is BS. Obviously you must be using ONE key to drive the car. If you had 100 miles on it I would say you never use the key so it doesn't charge but with 16K, something went bad. It should certainly be covered under the 4yr/50k warranty. How are you supposed to drive the car? They really want you to believe the KEYS aren't supposed to last for 4yrs....
