Roman, I know you guys are still working on it, but any ideas on what the upgrade path will look like from VT1 to VT2? A simple upgrade kit purchase? Pricing difference?
This will be nice to know before deciding on a VT1 now and VT2 upgrade later or to just wait for the VT2. For now: Stage 1 (VT1-445) 1. Vondelta 2. nesrevival 3.Gallo2008 4. ///Rage 5. Looks like stage 1 will be the best bang for you buck.

Also, looking at the z4m VT1-445 on the ESS site, there's a $1000 difference in price compared to the e46 VT1-445. From what I can tell, the descriptions and system component lists are identical between the two. The dyno sheets are also identical with the same performance gains (curious if they're duplicate or coincidentally same output). I know there's probably different length/bend tubing, etc. but anything else that determines the $1K difference in price??

I believe the price difference is in the tune.
I learned the hard way that our ECU is far more complicated than the e46 M3. The ECU in our e86 M cars is similar to that in the new e9X M3's and requires a much more sophisticated tune.

Guys the Group buy for the VT1 was done last month. Anyone currently on the list that did not get in can contact me but we will not be adding any additional orders. The VT1 kits have been shipping now for several weeks and we will have plenty of inventory on this product thru the summer.
The VT2 series release as of now for the Z4M is currently on hold. We have a few installed in europe and we will have two US cars running the kit for testing thru the summer and fall but we do not have a release date scheduled. Once final plans for the VT2 have been decided I will update everyone. As always if you have questions please email me Roman@esstuning.com. |
