It feels even better, great combination. I am waiting to get it on the dyno again so I can see if there were any true gains.

Here are my dyno's from August last year on a dynojet. I tried with a K&N panel filter and the stock filter; and with Sport mode on and off. With STD correction, the best run was 285.xx whp (SAE corrected this was around 279.xx whp).

There are a couple companies here in Germany claiming around the same amount of HP gain. WMS out of Darmstadt claims 26 HP and H&S Elektronik Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH from Berg as Starnberger See claims to go from 252kW (343 hp) to 275kW (374 hp) and raise the limiter to 299 km/h. Price averages around 1000 Euro ($1300) Dino charts are on their homepages. http://www.hs-elektronik.com/

Looks like HS Electronik results are for a Euro spec S54 since they list the base hp as 343 and not 330 (US spec cars). Since the Euro S54 has full headers unlike us that have cats strapped to them, its possible more power can be had by tuning, though I still highly suspect a 32 hp gain. That's like CSL territory with just a chip.

The OP sent us a testimonial stating his independent dyno result of 305WHP. He is first on our testimonials page right now. There really is some nice room in these engines.

I've seen stock dyno's anywhere from 270-290whp.

Making more then 10-15 WHP with software alone on this NA motor is not possible. Anyone who claims that 30+ HP can be achieved with software alone is not telling the truth. Anyone who knows this motor and has a high level of knowledge about the software that runs it would know this.

I dont understand why people keep writing they are claiming 30+ whp they said UP TO 30 HP (which is at the crank NOT wheel). So in responce to your post it is possible.

http://www.veloceperformance.com/testimonial.htm "After having my car on the dyno with other minor modifications I was able to get 305 horsepower at the wheels, which I was very impressed with. Love the car and the tune but most importantly the guys over at Veloce are really great people." not trying to stir the pot, just clarifying other people's post. i'd love to see a chip tuner achieve these kind of gains but w/o a baseline dyno, don't buy it either. on a turbo car... sure... 30hp is believable but on a n/e engine, just not realistic. I don't doubt there were gains with your chip, but I bet had you done a baseline dyno, it would've shown the gains to be much smaller... maybe 8-10hp to the wheels? |

The other mods I had done were SS race mufflers, rpi scoop and k&n drop in. So in combination with everything I was able to dyno 305. Unfortunatley I do not have a dyno of just the tune with all else stock.

Out of all the people on this forum, I'd probably believe Rom3n unless someone has further dyno proof that just software + airbox alone can achieve 30+ WHP.

I am not trying to argue with anyone here, I just wanted to give my fellow M drivers a heads up on my experience with the mods I have made to my car. I was very impressed when I dynoed and got 305 whp. I am just re-stating the facts and my experience, whether or not anyone would like to believe it that is perfectly fine. It makes me just wonder as anyone else should as well, why would I be making any of this up. There is no beneift for me or anyone else reading this thread in sharing false information.

What happened to those two guys who got 315-317whp... what was that all about? I.e. the videos on Youtube, etc?
