Hi doozyj, I just found your reply, I'm still learning my way around the forum. After further investigation I did'nt find a vent tube anywhere, so doe's that mean that I have the right battery in the car? The battery is in the trunk. Also, I pulled the battery out and found that the date on it is less than 2 yrs. old.

All Z4 batteries are in the trunk. Some have AGM and some don't(I think maybe only M's have AGM?). In any event you may still have a warranty on the battery since it is pretty new. This is a big advantage to buying from a parts place when you need a new one as it will likely have a 5-7yr prorated warranty since it is a pretty expensive battery. I replaced my AGM battery with a non AGM and saved about 35% which was worth it since the warranty was identical.

Install was obviously straightforward, car started up fine, no more long cranks. I did pick up "computer memory keeper" just in case. Not sure if I really needed it or not but didn't want to chance it neither. No need to reprogram the radio, windows 1 touch up/down worked fine. I did however have to enter the time.

Compared to OEM, it felt heavier but then again at least on the 3.0si the OEM battery was rated 550 or 570 cca (don't recall).
Random bump but glad to say Autozone warranty came in handy. My car was suffering from a very constant slight drain stemming from the broken tab light switch in the center console. This continued for a year before I finally got around to fixing it. And last week I left my headlights on parked 7 hours, though I was able to drive the car home that night. But after letting it sit for a week in the garage the battery finally died. Also over the past few months I noticed the car would experience slow cranks. In any case I got a new battery free of charge.
