Did you try calling? Never had any trouble reaching Randy when I called during business hours.

To be fair, once I found out no one other than evolve was actually selling the csl intake I never followed up.

Interesting to see all the same thought processes that I was going through. I did the MAF unplug on another standard car to see if it replicated the "fault" as well and, as already confirmed, it did. All this was relayed to Sal a few weeks back when we were trying to fix the issue.

I understand Evolve are still working on the map but that it isn't there yet (when we last spoke a couple of weeks ago). I did go with another solution in the end as I needed something sorted for my impending trip to the Nurburgring. Whilst Sal did try to do everything he could to resolve it, my timescales were just too urgent.

Okay,

Having shelled out a lot of scratch for this airbox, I was quite pleased at the craftsmanship, and the updates I got along the way. The install was not difficult (so I understand, as box was installed at same time as cams). The cams, airbox, tune was good for 334 SAE WHP, but with track duty in her future, not being able to heel-toe would mean almost certain disaster. I posted about this problem along with several other people quite a few months back. At the same time I spoke to the guys at Evolve who ensured me a solution was close by. Nevertheless, here we are in mid August, no solution provided. Fortunately, I heard along the pipe line about another possibility, and contacted Randy at Epic Motorsports in Fla. I reluctantly coughed up another wad of cash (because in my opinion an incomplete tune is almost as good as no tune at all) I was sent the cable, emailed the stock tune to Randy, and had the modified alpha tune sent back in a couple days. Rain is on the way here in Boston, so I haven't had an opportunity to field test yet, but the heel-toe issue is GONE. Idle is smooth (or as smooth as it can be with longer duration cams). A comparison dyno will be performed as soon as I get a couple days off and will be posted.

I do apologize I wasn't able to post the last dyno-jet graph as the shop never e-mailed me the file.

Maybe Evolve can sell us the airboxes without the tune for less price.. and we choose our own tuner.

epic motorsports looks promising

900 off cost.

Its an impressive piece-still expensive and as far as I'm concerned there are options for tuning. I will continue to stay with Epic but it will be a bit before i proceed with install. Nice thing about our ECU, unlike the E46 M3, is its ability to accept limitless updates with out a lock out feature.

anyone else notice the 068 on snorkel? ...need to check this one out.

The question is: is there any difference in induction sound and power gains??? Assuming you get the same tune.

Mapping issues aside, the actual carbon intake is a beautiful piece of kit

For me the sound is not the only question. I was hesitant to put that other box on my car because I was worried about vacuum leaks. It was pretty shady. THIS box I would have zero hesitation mounting it to my car. Evolve just has to smooth out the tune concerns.

If only they'd actually respond to people trying to get in touch with them. I've lost count of the amount of mails i've sent and even phoning got me nowhere. Their complete lack of giving any semblance of a sh*t means they've lost my business though perhaps they don't need it.
