sounds good.
I was going to ask about that BMW SSK in your sig line. Can you link me to that? I've never seen a BMW SSK listed online for E85, I'm curious whats in it vs whats in the e46 SSK. |

As the foremost EXPERT on this matter (I had done extensive research into this for work), only shifters designed for E46 330i/CI with the 6 speed transmission would "fit," but it wouldn't be a short shifter because the factory E46levers are significantly longer.
In fact a good upgrade would be to put the z4 shift lever into an E46 because the throw and lever are both shorter on the z4, although your gear gates would be off, neutral would sit between 3rd and 5th half way up the odd number shifts. I actually have the B&M short shifter for the E46 330i/CI ZHP installed in my car, and had to put the ZHP shifter knob to return the knob to the same height as factory.

It will work as in technically it fits, but will not offer any reduction in throw AND will make the shift knob sit higher.

thanks Hack, very helpful info.
In that case Vanne, I appreciate the offer, but I'll have to pass. And thanks for clarifying that BMW kit, that makes sense. |
