///M Baaaack!

Hey kids! After a long absence from the forums, and what seems like life itself, I'm back! Looking to get active on the forums again, creating a build thread (finally!), and seeing what's been up for the past year or so!

Here's a teaser pic of things to come!

YES I KNOW THEY'RE ON THE WRONG SIDE ON THE FLOOR! lol But I assure I installed them on the correct side!

Oh man, my karma has to have been reset to 0...

went out last evening to record a bit of exhaust noise...came home and no gopro on the rear bumper! welp, there goes $400! someone's got a nice present!

until as soon as i get out of the car a guy walks up and says, "excuse me, is that youe BMW?" I said yeah and he said, "are you missing something?" I said yeah my gopro setup. he said, what do you have on it, so i told him and he said, come with me. he had it in his car! WOW. he said he found it, watched the video, found my neighborhood (very unique) and looked for my car when I drove by and he followed me. How crazy is that. Could've kept it but he chose to be honest and return it. Awesome.

TL;DR - I don't have video of the exhaust yet.

It was exciting...until I found out that I'm LOSING nearly 100HP after 6K. The whole power curve was off after 2K. I put the stock section 1 back on thinking that might be the issue. Evolve deals with CSL headers and Supersprint exhaust on a daily basis. So I put the OE back on today and am going back down there Tuesday.

I also put the Vibratechnics mounts on. Holy crap. I had AKG on before and, while there were vibrations, I could live with them. But the way everyone raves about the Vibras...I had to try them...and ZERO vibrations. Obvioulsy this is just first day/20 minute drive home from the garage but seriously, nothing rattled.

How's the kiddo?

That was pre-tune dyno. they still did the remap, but couldn't overcome the loss, but i've switched out the section 1 and am going back tomorrow to have another look.

Wow, interesting.
Keep us posted on what they figure out with the HP loss.

Nice to here another good review on these engine mounts! Picked up a set from Ron, but haven't had the chance to install them yet.

Little one is growing like a weed, just start school and is learning a second language. I am amazed at how fast the little one learn. Guess that makes me old

Yeah I definitely will. I'm interested how this happened. The exhaust is the only thing I've modded power-wise. I'm hoping (just to solve the issue) that the DKF Section 1 was the problem, but I don't see how. maybe since I have the CSL headers and the DKF S1 is stepped and I had on the resonators, there wasn't enough back pressure? If that ends up being the case I'm going to see if they'll allow me to reinstall the DKF S1 with the 300 cell cats I have and have them run it again. The sound was amazing, pretty much perfect for what I was looking for.

she's in school already?! holy crap.

Sorry for such a late update. So I swapped the OE section 1 back, took it back and Imran ran it with the same results. I dropped it off at their shop this past Friday to let them have a good long look at it all and hopefully figure it out. I left all the exhaust bits just in case. I'm stumped.

Before he started any testing, he thought it could be the lack of rear lambda sensors. Can anyone with the DKF section 1 or aftermarket headers/section 1 minus rear bungs chime in? I've just pulled mine off the engine altogether, and they were able to turn them off successfully in the tune, which makes me think it's not that. But I don't know engine software that well, so that's why I just dropped it off. I'm fortunate enough to have a second car out here, and with track season over, I'm not pressed for time.

I've never noticed a drop off in terms of perofrmance since owning the car, even before I started modding it, so maybe the power was never there to begin with? that would be a shame.

i think first off; no exhaust mod would cost you 100hp.
it would have to be partially blocked off to do that (muffler or resonator internals failing)

I did my DKF along with headers at the same time and had a significant performance boost to the point that I was pulling MANY car lengths up the back straight on a Z4M w/o headers & DKF.
As soon as they added the same mod, we were nose to tail again.

Yes, the headers were the big gain, but the DKF certainly didnt take anything away.
