Did you take the maximum of loose wire under the valve cover beauty cover?

Yes, I unFolded the wires and cut back the conduit. I then ran them down the driver side of the car. I will keep playing with it. It's really close.

If you have taken then back to the T connedction in the conduit (as most have done),
you can gain a LOT more length by taking them back closer to the ECU (not quite that far)

The 'T' junction in the conduit is a snap together piece and very easy to un-clip & redo.

I did mine this way and have lots of wire length.

sensor

Yes, I have done all of that. I have plenty of length on the EGT and one sensor, but am short by an inch or two on the other. Looking at other ways to route to get the extra length...

have you cut a new hole in the heat shield? if you try to go around the shield or through the existing hole, you will not reach. I cut a new hole and had a few inches to spare when all set and done

I think your right. I was originally trying to route through the plastic guard and heat shield. Maybe if I make a new hole I can use that route. Otherwise I was thinking of going through the transmission tunnel close to the transmission and under the heat shield. What did you use to cut the heat shield?

The way i fixed my o2's was removing and flipping the two connectors (o2 side) so that they'd reach without a problem. So basically, 02 #1 is connected to harness #2, and sensor #2 is connected to harness #1. And just make sure you put the sensors in the correct cats. I'm trying to find a more permanent fix, Like swapping the connectors on the vehicle harness so that i i don' thave to keep doing the sensors.. but i've been lazy to figure out how to removed the connectors on the harness side, I can't find the release clip, and don't want to butcher the pins or connectors. heh.

Glad it worked. For future readers, you can just stab the heatshield with a screw driver and fold the edges back with pliers so it is no longer sharp to cut the O2 wires

C-Los, it sounds like you did what I wanted to do but was too scared to try. Too much work putting everything back together, getting a code, then taking it back apart. I wanted to swap the 2nd half of the sensors, because one was long enough to reach but the other wasn't. I was trying to figure out if the computer knew about the independent sensor or if it just new it was suppose to be getting readings from bank 2 post cat? I think it's the later, the sensors look identical. That way you could use the oem euro wire routing.

As I've mentioned before, and plan to do in the near future, when it's time to order new post cat O2 sensors, just order two of the longer ones. I think the only difference between the two sensors is the small difference in length.

These are the part numbers for the North American O2 sensors:
part number 11781406621 is 1075mm long
part number 11781406622 is 935mm long

When one goes bad I switch them both out. It's too much work to do one at a time. They tend to go bad way quicker than I would like.

UPDATE: The plugs are different. You would have to swap the plug form your old wiring to the new one. It's not that easy to swap plugs so this is not advisable.

If going the Euro sensor route, are the plugs (connectors) compatable?
