Testing iphone mounting ideas..

This is my current mount location. I have replaced the garminfone gps and using my iphone now. The problem is its kinda hard to see since its right behind the wheel.

I also did not want a permanent solution ie the adhesive disk, in case it rips the dash off. My tomtom iphone dock comes with this adhesive disk, instead of using the adhesive that comes with it, I bought those 3m command strips. I recently pull off 8 year old command strip and it was still strong but comes off easily. Hopefully I can mount this guy on the dash so its easier to see and use but not rip the dash apart.

iPhone doubles as a video recorder for tracking!

So the dash mount failed... the dash is a bit curved, so the 3m strip does not fully touch and lifts off.. the windshield mount is still good. The only thing Im worry about is if I have a passenger and its mounted on the windshield. If there is an accident, when the airbag deploys, will it take out mount ?

I like the upper windshield idea.
I think I'd look at a way to chase the cable behind the headliner & A pillar though.

...also, why not suction cup it, instead of d.sided tape?

I like the windshield mount. Is there a way we can make this into a rearview camera ?
