2.5i 5MT gearing ratios?

Just out of curiosity, can anyone tell me what revs your engine is at when you're cruising at 80mph in 5th? The Z4 I just bought is at ~3700 at 80mph, which seems really high to me and I was wondering if it has a shorter than factory final drive gear. Seems like this motor should be able to handle ~3000rpms at 80mph just fine.

My 3.91 6 speed tachs 3k at 70mph.
Looks like your 5 speed is not overdriven

I would love to have that 0.69 as an overdrive gear.

Thanks for the info. The gearing in this car is definitely not setup for fuel economy.

Mine is the same way, I talked to my mech and he said nothing to worry about, so I stop thinking about it.
