non-stock size tires
I am looking to get more tire on the pavement for the track without upgrading the standard rims and with stock suspension .
Anyone have recommendations on upgrade size that will work and also brand of tires? Thanks Wayne |

Wayne, there's a number of threads on this in wheels and tires. You should look at at a wheel calculator to see the differences in diameters and consider the tradeoffs - size difference maxing out on OE width etc.
Short version- fr 235 40 r 265 35 or fr 245 35 r 275 35 Tires - here's a few more common ones - Dunlop Direzza Star Spec, Hankook V12 Ventus and what I just bought yokohama AD08 in OE size (limited sizes). Check tire rack for options and tests. |

Due to the cross-section of the Star Spec that is wider than the nominal tyre size, it will likely put the most rubber on the road on a stock car with 245/40-18 front and 275/35-18 rear. I have this configuration on my car on stock wheels. The rear tyre is about 290mm sidewall to sidewall, the front tyre about 260mm.
