Smile Greeted by my (!) after only Two Weeks

Yesterday I was driving the Z4 to work, and the (!) appeared. I just pushed the button to reset it - I know now that I'm not suppose to do this.

I called the service department - they said to bring it in tomorrow and they'd put it on the rack to see if I got a nail in it.

Am I ok to drive it? I know it's a girl question, but I only drive cars I don't know how to service them

You should check the tire pressure...make sure its about 30 psi. If its alot less than that you have a leak.

If its a few PSI off, they may not have been inflated properly at the factory. Just check your manual or the driver's side door sill for the recommended tire pressure and reinflate them. Most gas stations have free air pumps.

It happened to me the first day I had my car. They had mounted the rear tires the wrong way, they are directional and they were turning in the wrong direction. You might want to check the arrow on the tires.

I'm so excited..my thread stayed on topic.

I took the car into BMW today, they checked the pressure, reset it and checked the pressure again - all was fine. They said the light can be sensitive at times.

Thank you all for the input - very appreciated

Z4 - I don't think we could be soul mates - a few more years and I'd be almost old enough to be your mother

i never use gas station pumps. if u ever turn one on and push the needle lots of condensation aka water comes out. over time it can accumulate and throw off balance. not to mention what it could do to ( ! ) system.

i use my dads cinderblock sized craftsman ( or is it black n decker) electric air pump. its half black and half silver metal.. im sure someone here has the same thing.

ill resort to one of thoes jack hammer style bicycle air pumps before i use gas station "free" air.

speaking of which id like to find a place that i can get nitrogen for my tires.

Just buy a lot of whipped cream in cans and put nitrous oxide in your tires. If you get a flat you will just laugh about it.

Anyone know a good place I can get upgraded headlight fluid? I heard the racing stuff is expensive, but works a treat. I think the geniune BMW stuff is a rip off. It's very yellow IMHO.

The air that we breathe and put into our tires is mostly nitrogen anyway. Just open the valve enough to let the smaller oxygen molecules out. Keep doing this until all that is left is nitrogen. It's a very simple procedure that is easy with some practice. Just don't breath the pure nitrogen. You'll die of asphyxia.

I forget, why do people put nitrogen in their tires?

I always get mine from the auto parts store that carries my favorite brand of blinker fluid.

KaleCo Blinker Fluid
