SMOG results for Euro Headers and Cats
I've had a few people ask me about this, so I figured I'd post.
I got my first smog after getting my euro headers and cats. I care for environmental reasons, but for many they just want to know if they'll pass. The good news? Absolutely nothing to worry about. It's not even remotely close. All I did was take a 10 minute drive beforehand to make sure everything was warm. So you can have you performance and feel good about being green as every number except one was significantly better than the average. Max is maxed allowed, Average is "Average for Passing Vehicles", Measured was my actual measurement. Results: HC (PPM) 15 mph Max: 54 / Average: 4 / Measured: 8 25 mph Max: 37 / Average: 4 / Measured: 1 CO (%) 15 mph Max: 0.50 / Average: 0.01 / Measured: 0.00 25 mph Max: 0.47 / Average: 0.01 / Measured: 0.00 NO (PPM) 15 mph Max: 430 / Average: 16 / Measured: 5 25 mph Max: 717 / Average: 15 / Measured: 5

Very nice! Thanks for posting. I wonder how the modified NA cats do with the euro headers.

Beta, are you running a tune with your mods? I assume your smog was recent, sometime in 2013? Did the smog also include a visual check, if so, how detailed?

Yes I'm running an evolve tune. The visual check is more like "yep it has an engine". I imagine you'd have to have obvious aftermarket parts or a supercharger for anyone to really notice/care.

I had heard that also and why my questions to Beta. Maybe the new test program requires additional instrumentation which stations have not acquired or there is an option on which test you can comply with? There's a lot of CA enthusiast cars out there which this may have a benefical or negative impact on.
