Quick Story on Coupe Version - New
I am also new to the forum and decided to post images of the coupe version. I live in South Texas and talked my wife in agreeing to provide me a Christmas present. In searching for several months I found this vehicle that would fit my budget, keep in mind that we have ‘07 530i, ‘08 328i, ‘04 SSR and ’03 American Ironhorse Motorcycle. I certainly appreciate all the information on this forum that I was able to gather prior to purchase.
The ’07 Z4 si had 3,200 miles and was certified and we decided to fly to CA to pickup and drive back (just could not wait for transport). It came with Premium Package, Sport Package, M seats but the only thing lacking was satellite (more later). When we left and hit the CA freeways, with their concrete imperfections, I said to myself that it was going to be along ride but did not take too long get away from that roughness. Now I can see why this vehicle was on lot for a few months and they were anxious to sell. We drove a total of 1,700 miles in two days and enjoyed every bit of it, just in time for New Year celebration. Mileage averaged at 31.3 to 33.7 depending on terrain (not bad for traveling 80+. I had an extra Sirius satellite sitting around so I immediately installed and attached to aux input. The vehicle does lack some D/C connections so added a two prong connection in glove box to connect. I accomplished this by soldering to bottom of existing ash tray cig lighter connection allowing use for future. The ash tray door still opens and since I have only a DTC & tire pressure light, I can still see from driver’s eye angle. The antenna was mounted on passenger dash which allowed for hiding of wire. Certainly am glad in purchase and being part of forum. |

I am with you on the wood trim. It was a spur of the moment purchase, I actually was at the dealership to get replacement parts for my 325ci, reluctantly talked to salesperson but I fell for the car,the only one with that color combo.

I personally like the wood myself but to each its own. Aluminum is nice and probably coordiantes better with a roadster due to Alum backrests.
Some prefer roadsters, some prefer coupes, some prefer different colors but the important thing is that we have one and enjoy aesthetically and mechanically. I certainly am. Maybe Bimmr7 and M_Sixcan trade? |
