Will it work? yes, it'll work. It'll be under sized, the rear tires will be stretched on a snow tire (225 on a 9" wide), the car will be closer to the ground for driving in the winter. So it's not optimal but you can drive on it. I would stick with OE size or 245/275 which I've done for 2 year in Vancity winter.

will it work? yes. will it be optimal? no.

you want a skinnier wheel/tire and a larger sidewall (and obviously dedicated snow tires)
