Coolest car I've ever owned!!!!

So I've had my Z4 now for about a month, and apart from fixing up small little things here and there, it's definitively the nicest car I've owned. Still coming to grips with re-learning the stick, but it feels empowering (not Mpower-ing and no pun intended) to drive. It's true people just want to race you all the time. Sad fact, but I do like driving it. It's my form of escape-ism and with the Z4 it's at a whole new level. I also like working on my own cars, otherwise I wouldn't have bought one of these.

Just love it..

First service due in 300kms...eek!!! : )

Congratulations! What I have really liked was that my affection for the car has not faded. I have always had a "wondering eye" when it came to cars. But I have owned mine for a year now, didnt get to drive it all winter and I am completely excited for the weather to warm up and get it rolling.
By the way - they predicted snow here again tomorrow. Probably not an issue in Dubai!

I agree with your sentiments. Honestly the M isn't the easiest gearbox to drive smoothly. I've been driving exclusively manual transmissions for the last 6 years or so (except in other people's cars), and the M still takes a little bit of getting used to, especially first gear. I've found it shifts smoother the faster you shift it.

I smile every time I... Walk towards it and of course while driving it. I also look back at it as I walk away from parking it. That's love

My Dad used to tell me that when he was first dating my Mom (circa 1950) she was so beautiful that he liked to walk behind her just so he could see the expression on guys' faces as they walked towards her.

Congrats on your new Z!!! I've had mine for almost 2 years now. It's always in the garage for winter. Every spring, it's a like a love affair all over again. Every time I step into that car and start the engine is magical. It puts a smile on my face when I go to work and go home from work. It's like having a trophy wife or girlfriend. Now I've got both, the wife and the car. Lol...

I just did the CDV delete and it worked wonders for shifting the M. Feels like a "normal" manual now, instead of having that strong/high release point. Also installed the short shifter...love it.

How's the M gearbox compare to the 3.0si gearbox. Coming from a Honda civic, that was a lot easier to shift. I could shifts with two fingers and my thumb. On the Z, it takes a bit more force. Will the CDV delete help the 3.0si as well?

Yep, definitially looking into the CDV delete. And yeah I too turn to look at it after parking. I am not looking forward to the first service, but I will be doing hat at a Indi bmw shop that has all the tools. I'll probably bite the bullet and get a tune up, including new plugs and as the obc reports a misfire, I'll probably need a new coil or two : )

Oils are also in the service, as is a flush of the cooling system.

Haha yeah it's an awesome car, brings a smile to my face when I start it

This morning, after parking in our private company garage, I literally walked backwards for ~50' staring at the Z. She was all cleaned up, new Apex wheels on...a sight to behold. It's sort of like putting a thoroughbred in her stall - you know she wants to get out and run and even sitting still it looks like she's chomping at the bit.
