New owner: Repaint bumpers or paint correction first?
Hi everyone,
I'm a proud new owner of a 2007 z4 M roadster! I picked up the vehicle recently, and the car needs both bumpers repainted, and its paint corrected (swirls and rock chips galore). Should I go with one or the other first? As in, is it better to get my bumpers re-painted before having my paint corrected? Or, am I just over thinking this? Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

If it were me I'd do the paint correction first since it's cheaper. I don't know if this is true (it makes sense in my head), but I'd think it might even result in a more accurate color match for the body shop when they do the bumpers later.

That's a really good point. I'm sure on an almost 10 year old car, the color may look slightly different after that clear coat is cleaned up. Thanks!

Definitley worth trying paint correction. You'll be surprised with the results! then try finding a wax that is closer to your car color. I was blown away with the outcome of my front bumper as well.

Do the paint correction first to give the painter the most accurate look at what he will be trying to match. When you say the bumpers need painting, is this due to damage? It may be possible to touch-up small chips with good results if there is no actual body damage.
