Tire pressure

Couple of questions forum members:

1. What tire pressure do you run? (I have stock setup on z4mc)

2. Got the tire pressure warning light flash at me for a few moments then stay on. Cycled the engine and went off. Tires are at 32 psi back and about 35 psi front. One stem cap just got stolen two days ago. What do you think is up?

Thanks to all with thoughts.

31 PSI all around.

Press and hold the Tire Light Button next to your heated seats while stopped until the light comes on. Once it comes on drive and it will trigger off.

It will then reset to those pressures.

32 psi fronts and 30 psi rears cold. ^+1 on resetting the ftm/tpms immediately after inflating to desired cold pressures. press and hold the tire looking button on the center console and u should see the tpms light come on and stay on. drive for about 10 seconds and the light should extinguish indicating that the system has reset the baseline to the current detected tire pressures.

If you are trying to decrease understeer, you have your pressures backwards.

General rule of thumb; to decrease understeer,
set.....
Front Tire Pressure Higher
Rear Tire Pressure Lower

Also, I find our TPMS system is a little finicky at times.
Mine has triggered once this summer for no apparent reason.
I just reset it as per above & it has been fine.

Good to know. My previous Z4R did this on occasion too, so I guess its just the TPMS gremlins....have driven car 3 more times and the light never came back on.

Thanks for tip about understeer.

So it seems a few of you are setting your front tires at a higher psi than the rears. How come? The manual recommends the opposite.

Manual doesn't realize how hard you drive your car when you take it on the track or autocross either.

Just an FYI if you leave the light on nothing will happen and its perfectly fine to run it without your TPMS sensors. I don't run them at all and it doesn't hurt a thing... Non issue for me as it does not bother me. If that light (which you can hardly see anyway) bothers you, then sure you can adjust like other people said.

You don't mention what tires you're running. I'm daily driving on Yokohama Neova AD08s and I typically have the pressures 28-30 psi cold all around.
