Z4M Vanos Sprocket - Same as M3?
I understand the cars share the S54. I read on M3F that the vanos bolts used on the Z4M are actually stronger and can prevent problems. But I am wondering if the vanos sprocket is the exact same? Seems tabs are breaking off more often on the M3s and I wondering if it's because the sample size of the Z4M market is too small to show it yet, or if the Z4M cars have too few miles on them to get an accurate showing, or if the part also was changed (harder metal) for engines latest iteration. Thanks!
Can read more about the failures here: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=389200 Searched this forum and I found one foul experience and some other members saying they "think" the Z cars have harder tabs. Just wondering if anybody has newer/confirmed information. Last edited by wyatth; 12-14-2011 at 10:39 AM.. |
