Cool, so if I get you right the external line is just a relay trigger?

If any of the connectors you used and taped up are visible, it would be pretty easy to seal them with liquid electrical tape when you get a chance but you should be fine in GA for many years. The rare day of snow in the Dirty South is a good excuse for a few days off. No need for salt down here, it'll just melt in a couple days if it even lasts that long. |

I was told to use something like these:
Auto relay double throw (5 pins) http://redmancbparts.com/car-alarm-3...-pin-spdt-12v/ Auto relay harness http://www.alcohol-injection.com/en/...amp-relay.html But I was hoping to find out which wire in the cabin to tap into, etc. preferably with pix as I'm no electronics genius and am a visual learner Not sure how everything hooks up exactly, even if I had all of the hardware lol. All I know is, the angel eyes are currently wired up so that they're on whenever my key is turned to ignition position 2 or above. edit: I read through the DIY more carefully and found the info I need, thanks ! This is the same harness I got through my AE's from Dublin and the same harness thats on my 330i. Its pretty standard and made for the 3 series. But with a little mod it works for the Z just fine. You will need to mod the harness as I do if you want it tucked away. Int light Trigger - Pull off the Driver side footwell cover - 5 phillips head screws. When it drops you will see the footwell light still attached to it. The light has two wires, one is brown. The Brown is a ground wire. you will attach the trigger wire from your harness to the other wire (yellow&red I think) 2nd trigger wire: and More info: http://www.fastm.com/m3/angeleyes_orionv2.html Specifically step 4 b will provide you a source for the 2nd trigger wire. This should be the same as our Z's - but in the end you attach it to an "ignition switched" positive line. This makes the AE's DRL's. If you dont want them as DRL's and want them switched then either connect the 2nd trigger wire to a foglight if you have one(Sorry all you "Z4M" guys) or you will need a switch that connects the 2nd trigger wire to a positive 12V source(preferably ignition switched, not straight to the battery). If all of this still doesnt do it for you get on E46 Fanatics forum and find the locals. Seems like every E46 3 series in Ca has AE's. They'll probably do the install for fun/beer and to drool over the ZM.
