Seems reasonable for what your goals are and in terms of bang for the buck. At over 100 HP/liter, the N/A performance of the S54 is really in very good company with some of the best N/A engines.
I was curious to see what could be gained on top of that, and it's not that bad IMO. But not for the cost, not for the max attainable, and not when there's better bang for the buck with FI (and where good FI applications already exist that retain the stock characteristics of the motor). The road from here should be interesting. Have fun! |

Oh well, have to say i'm a little disappointed. I was looking forward to seeing a naturally aspirated monster Z4M.

This car is powered by a 460hp VAC built, dry sump equipped 3.2.
ps. The original Silver Bullet was an E36 with similar engine config

That's a big number... (almost hard to believe)
I'd like to know the rebuild cycle (hrs), with those types of numbers they really need to push the redline to at least 8500 if not higher. I understand VAC uses a DynaPack Dyno, does anyone know the HP to the wheel(hub) |

OMG !!!! that's one hell of a motor, more pipes that i can shake a stick at. Won't even bother asking what half of those bits do but they look the nuts .
OP - slightly disappointed that you've decided to go FI - agree that it's the best way to get max bung for your bucks but still wanted to see how far an NA route would go. On the bright side, sounds like you drive it hard so will keep an eye out on how the FI fairs in heavy road & track use... Good luck and keep us posted.... |
