Vanne's new Seat and roll bar thread.
I wasn't sure where to put this actually, possibly here or in the Track section, i choose for here as I only track the car once a month (in winter) and not at all in summer.
Okay, so after the atrocity that the Momo seat thread was, I've since been in morning and got over that, putting it down as R&D. I came across some /real/ nice seats and have been in chats with Steve from Tillett Racing in the UK and have settled on his B6F XL 47 seat with custom cushions and headrest. These seats are made on demand, so I guess lead in time for production is around 3-4 weeks at best. Ill be using the VAC floor mounts with Billit side mounts and Tillet mounting kit. I was initially concerned that my butt would be too wide for this seat, but Steve answered all my questions and knows his stuff. He assures me that this seat will be probably the nicest fitting seat I've ever driven in, even over longer drives with the custom padding. The seats are expensive and aggressive, no doubt about that, but I think these will suit the build i have in mind for my car much, much better than the Momo seats i originally ordered. Okay, first some pics of the seats.. Just had a lengthy discussion with Alex in regards to the pro's and cons of running a 5 point harness, (or 4 point for that matter), and the obvious next thing that came up was how to mount the belts and what happens in a roll over.. So I had a thought of running a single tubular bar from the rear strut tower up to the roof, across the roof and then down to the other rear strut tower, re-enforced by the OEM belt slots on the upper B-pilars. This would have 2 effects, that in case of driving the car with no helmet (95 percent of the time) that it would be impossible to hit your head on the roll bar as its positioned up and rearwards from your head. (even in the senario that the seat broke), and provides a great place to mount the seat belts. Id love to hear your thoughts on this, I have an appointment next week with my crazy friend in Dubai who build rally cars and roll bars/cages, so we will look at the options on this idea.. Thanks for the help Alex. Nice seats eh?

Wow, those look amazing Vanne.
Shame to put covers over the CF tubs Re your belt mounts; There are many more knowledgeable I, but I always thought mount height was critical. Wouldn't the hoop up near roof level be too high? (I may not have pictured this correctly)

Vanne,
Glad to see you turning those lemons into lemonade. Sorry the MOMOs didn't work out, but looks like you're going to come out even better with something more unique. Salty

They rang up requesting use, i told them in no specific way that if i have to wait 6 weeks, they aint going anywhere but my coupe!
Can anyone recommend me a nice set of seat harnesses? pref 3 inch wide.. and either quick rotate release or standard seatbelt style, 4 or 5 point.
