New member, new coupe
Hi all:
On somewhat of an impulse, I decided to browse BMW's CPO site a couple of weeks ago (after looking in the E85/86 forums, I might add). Long story short, I found a '07 3.0si coupe that met the wife's approval in Cleveland. We flew out last week, picked up the car, and drove the 2100 miles back to AZ. My daily driving experience is now reinvigorated! The only thing I absolutely hate is the stereo Here's a couple of "after the road grime was washed off" pics... |

I love AW. I hate the stereo as well. I'm pretty sure my stock stereo in my 07 civic was better.

Congratulations!
2100 miles, that's one hell of a test drive. Sounds like a lot of fun. Nice to have another coupe in AZ.

Wow, and I thought I went a long ways (1,250 miles) to get my coupe. Congratulations. It's funny what you say about the sound system in these cars (THX upgraded system). Some people rave about it and others (myself included) think it's pretty lame. The only exception is at very high volume levels when it seems to come alive and sound decent. After hearing so many comments from people who think it's great, I was beginning to think there was something wrong with mine. Guess not.
Since your car is a cpo, I'm sure it still has run-flat tires. Arizona probably has good enough roads for these to be tolerable but swapping these out for regular performance tires is usually one of the first and best mods made to these cars. I wondered how the M version could ride better than the 3.0si. After ditching the run-flats, I now know why.

Thanks for the comments guys-
I'm going to file the drive from Cleveland under "stuff I'll never do again"... It was great the first couple of days, but the last two were a bit much. For now, I've got no real plans to mod - but I am eyeing some black grilles |

I think you blasted past me about 5:30pm today on Pecos in Chandler? White coupe with temporary tag on the back. MUST have been you. I was in my Mini Cooper, not my M Coupe, so you probably wouldn't have noticed (unless you appreciate a nice, lowered MCS on BBS LM's). Welcome to the E86 family, we're a small group, to be sure.

Yeah, that was me - and I remember your car (we used to own an MCS, so I do check them out when I see them on the road). I promise it was the car, not me My coworker told me to try out the Sport Drive button. That's apparently the "take me to jail for criminal speed" button! |

Congrats on the car! There were a couple options for the sound system, so you may or may not have the THX system.
