Maybe ask Ron about it. I don't know which mine is. I just had Performance Technic install, and never looked back lol..

Agreed. Let me know how it works out for you re: duties/taxes. Sometimes if you're lucky, Canada Post gets lazy and they let it slide through without asking for anything

Never any duties with USPS. A small handling fee and HST. And yes it's hit and miss on charges of any kind. Often I have received items < $200 with no fees or taxes

When you say "knuckle", are you referring to the Carrier (the large OEM aluminum piece) or the Coupler (the inch-long round brass-colored piece)?

I'm not clear why the coupler would even need to be replaced, unless it's worn due to high mileage. It seems to be the hardest piece to reach/replace in the kit (correct me if I'm wrong on that).

Did you ever get your kit?

Should be here this week. Ronald needed to provide customs with country of origin information.

Well, Ronald made my UUC/AS dilemma easy for me by overselling his stock despite taking my payment quite some time ago. He said he didn't recall "replying to my email" which either means he didn't remember selling it to me or he didn't recall saying he was shipping it. Oh well, hope everyone else enjoys the shifter.

Edit: To Ron's credit I had a refund within 30 minutes of asking for it. I'm still trying to get UUC to just call me back when they say they will.

When someone gets their kit, could they maybe take a picture with the complete bill of materials? I've ordered mine but likely will wait until the spring. I did manage to find a shop (in GTA area) that quoted me $180 to do the SSK install.

I just installed mine myself and if I had it to do over I would have paid someone $300 to do it; What a PITA!

That aside, the shifter is now like an S2000, rifle bolt action in every gear with very little increased shift effort. This kit deletes ALL slop and leaves with a direct mechanical feel. Shifting really becomes telepathic.

What'd I tell ya?
(both about paying for it to be installed AND the benefits of the kit)

Only use chamfered washers on the shear side of the selector rod. The coupler on the trans is a bitch to change but, I installed the AS one.

Garage List
Anyone install this on a 3.0i? Ron did mention 3.0i and M share the same lever and shift arm but I wanted to confirm with someone that has successfully installed before I have a shop start the process.

The OE bush is used at the rear.
I used some shrink tube over the carrier shaft to built it up & make it tighter.

IIRC this is covered in the instructions.

What's the piece in the second blister from the top in your kit?

Some sort of tool for removing the OE shifter, ....Totally unnecessary.
I tossed it in the bin.
