roadtripping in MRoadster, what mpg @ 60mph?
Hi guys, new to the forum here. I'm going to be roadtripping in a new M Roadster, about 1400miles.
Cruising at 60mph what sort of pure highway mpg can I expect to get based on your experiences? Thanks |

its not about your speed. its all about the gears!!!! pop it in 6th at 60 and you can expect 22-23. but i never do that. the lag is just killer. i like 5th at 75

With the top up and a light foot you can do 24 no problem I think in 6th. Although, my MPG went up gradually until about 3500 miles, so for a greener engine it might be lower.

24MPG is a piece of cake in the Z4M.
I did a 100 mile Vancouver-Seattle trip a couple of weeks ago. Didn't go faster than 5mph over the speed limit. About half the time I was going 65mph and the other half I was going 75mph. I got 28.9MPG (actual MPG; not according to the OBC). AC on , 6th gear the entire way. But I do have a few mods that - overall when combined- may or may not have increased the gas mileage. - hardtop (added about 60lbs) -RPI scoop -BMC filter -ESS software -lightweight wheels (lost about 25lbs compared to stock) & 235/265 tires

I have done long drives and get 23-24 miles to the US Gallon.
On a separate note - remember to take your wallet out of your rear pocket while sitting in the car. Helps you not be lop-sided during the trip. |

With OEM tires my MC would get 25+mpg at 80mph, and better than 26mpg at 65mph. With my sticky R-comps and ESS software I now get about 24.5mpg at 80-85mph.

I just did a Montreal-Cedar Rapids-Tampa run (2500 miles) in my Z4MC and I
averaged 27 mpg. I was doing mostly 60mph in 6th gear. |

I am getting 23 MPG combined in my Z4MR. Only mod is the Stromung exhaust. MPG increase about 1.2 MPH according to OBC after switching exhaust. Not sure what pure hw mileage is as I only drive in mixed.
