Beedub, I was reading an article about the Z4 GTE and it reminded me of you. Notice the canisters at the top right of the picture and how they use socks to keep the fluids from spilling all over the place!

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1373669952 Oil cooler shroud was made. It only dropped temperatures by 8 degrees, but it is working better than the free floating unit which caused high pressure in the the front as well as behind. Ducting behind would have been best, but there isn't enough space with the Setrab oil cooler that came with the unit. |

I thought you would George. I will see how much it would be and contact you early in the week.
In the men time, I want to figure out why the boost reading isn't correct on the P3 Gauge: Kinked line, not put in the correct hole, not calibrated correctly, or I have no boost. |

Glad it was something simple. I'll let you know about the shroud but i will probably just fabricate my own. I've got a dyno session on Monday with full live engine diagnostics to sort out my persistent "yellow brake light" track limp mode issue. Wish me luck....

It makes sense. I used to have the time and no money and now I have the money and no time. So, I have him make it for me and fabricators make parts better than I could anyways.
I hope you get it worked out. Good Luck. |

I am only showing 6psi at full boost with the P3 gauge. Trying to figure out if others are showing a discrepancy with their calibrated gauge? Or if I should find out where there might be a leak? |

these are the pics i took of my peak recall and sent to ess.... these were running to around 7700 rpm... running to 7900 give a tiny but over 8.... this was a wiped peak recall making sure NOT to pop the limiter ( hence the 7700rpm) which gaves a spike and causes a very high reading.... oil pressure peak recall

if you want im happy to strap my iphone to the boost gauge and make a video for you.... ill try this weekend..... i've been seeing these boost numbers for years now....
im passing 6lbs relatively early in the rev range.... im guessing you have a boost leak. the stack data-logger i have shows the boost figures are 110% accurate... again i can post this data if you wish.... just not sure how to do that bit...

I would like to see. It is not uncommon to receive the wrong parts from these kind of shops.
I received the wrong P3 boost sensor and I had to get another. I have tightened everything up and installed better clamps on all the large pipes. The difference in size between 2 pulleys is hardly noticeable (2-3mm). I just want to make sure that I am getting close psi numbers as I paid for. So far, only 6psi with the P3 gauge and 2 psi has to be close to 50hp and 15 torque. |
