Help with VT1-450 belt question

Hello guys!

Since we are not allowed to modify our cars here in Sweden and are by law required to go through a inspection once a year, i now need to take my belt of the supercharger unit.

Although that might not be enough for me to clear the inspection(it has been reported to work in some cases), i think it might be worth a try so i dont need to remove the whole S/C unit.

Since im no mechanic myself, how would the car function without any belt at all/with stock belt? Keep in mind that i need to clear some exhaustvalue tests.

Any thoughts?

put a stock belt on the car, this will bypass the s/c system, run the car with the stock tune and it will be fine.... if it was me id leave all that alone get a cover fabricated that can bolt over the s/c unit, this way they wont know and it looks so stock lots of people wonder whats whats anyway....

btw my car passed all smog tests with stage 2 tune..... it'll pass the emissions, trust me!!

Sounds good!

I think i'll go with the stock belt, although, how much work is it vs removing the whole unit? Is it a easy task returning to stock belt? Any guidelines?

To run the car with stock tune, what do i need to do/purchase then? Since i let the guys in norway install everything for me im pretty clueless regarding this :P

Thanks for the answer

the stock belt just bypasses the supercharger, but you can still see it??? so whats the point???

Re the stock tune, buy the ess flash tuner and just load it up to your car, they will have the stock z4m file their, you already own it as part of the s/c purchase price....

holy shit this sounds expensive..... i defo wouldnt put myself through this if the law meant i had to do what your doing.... forget that....

still think the best option is to run a cover, i have a friend in norway who;s done just that and passes everytime no problem...

A cover might not be that stupid after all. Is it in some way possible to reduce the S/C noise? If thats the case this option would by far be the best!

Could you get your friend to post some pictures here? Would help alot seeing his solution.

you're being redundant.

I agree on making a cover for it. Should pass visual inspection. Its also quiet enough for a normal tech to think its a stock sounding engine. As for the emmisions, my car does not pass, and ESS said they were not designed to pass
