Sonar Lights - Wiring the relay help

Racking my brains trying to find an answer here. PO installed Sonar angel eye lights. Really shitty job but unfortunately I made it worse. I thought I didn't need the relay so I cut it out and put the wiring back to factory (at least I think I did) but now I have a lamp indicator and the lights are always on. but the wire coloring doesn't match up with my harness.

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to wiring, but I think there is not much here - I just need to figure out how to splice in the relay and know if it goes on the harness side or the headlight side. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
