You're most welcome. Please don't let my negative comments deter you if you really want one. Just be aware that there is some fettling to be done and most importantly find one thats as inexpensive as possible(not from Status Gruppe!) try eBay etc as mentioned above. It is a nice look if you don't mind fiddling.

Cheers

Ebay one I'm seeing is from carbon_racing2015. $129 plus shipping. doesn't seem to be a "make an offer" option though.

So a few questions. Where are you getting the "M" emblem from? Ebay as well?

Outside of the fitment issue, how does this cover attach?

The cover attaches the same as the stock unit with the same six chromed nuts.

The fix

Okay, so after getting over the fact that it took 8 weeks to get this "finely crafted aftermarket" part and that I paid a ridiculous amount of money for shipping and that it didn't fit worth $h1t* I spent the afternoon fettling it in to shape.
First problem is the holes are sort of close to where they should be but need to be opened up a good few millimetres(I use the term sort of rather loosely)
[IMG][/IMG]

Showing the amount of material needed to be removed the above and this are the two front mounting holes. the others needed a smaller amount of material removed
[IMG][/IMG]

The next thing that had to be adjusted was the middle upper mounting hole was formed too tall in relationship to the front and back holes with the result being a very malformed side that deformed as the mounting bolts were tightened. So out with the Dremel once again only with a cutoff wheel.
[IMG][/IMG]
Once the offending material was removed I replaced it with a small fibreglass patch, yup I know, much heavier than carbon But since I don't have any prepreg nor an autoclave I used common fibreglass. Touched up the other areas where I went through with the glass mat as well.
[IMG][/IMG]

Once that was done there was some sanding to be done on the edges that mate to the valve cover as they were waving back at me and not even remotely close to mating well with the actual valve cover. Once all that was done and many, many fittings later it actually ended up looking pretty good.
[IMG][/IMG]

All I can say is WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! and money.

This was the final insult, actually makes me laugh(included with the cover from the fine vendor)

Tight tolerances my @$$, at least I can get a chuckle every time I read it.

Cheers
