Use something with headers.
If you want a plug&play option I believe supersprint is one of the few.
But I believe that a good performance exhaust shop can make a better system (maybe with using the supersprint headers&cats); the section 2 from supersprint is single pipe.

What part of the Supersprint system do you think can be improved upon?

Header back system for sure. I'm a strong believer in Single pipe exhaust systems.

That's what the Supersprint system is... Y-pipe to single inlet/outlet muffler. I'm a firm believer in it too.

catback is single pipe for the 3.0i
I am not a strong believer in single pipe, especially not with a non turbo bmw firing order for the I6.
And BMW also isn't a strong believer for their more performance orientated models
Better double pipe with xflow to improve scavenging.

Two things the ///Marketing division loves - badges and exhaust pipes. I'm not convinced more are better because they do it. The firing order point is interesting though, and you may be on to something there.

I've discussed E46 M3 exhaust options with an employee at a highly renouned shop, who could have pretty much any setup he wants, and has almost unlimited technical advice at his disposal. He has a single pipe setup on his stage 2 Active Autowerke M3, because it made the most power for him on a dyno. FWIW... different BMW engine putting out 2.5+ times the horsepower of a stock M54, but that's what worked in his situation.
