Toyota is adding a new six-speed manual transmission to 6 cyl Supra

As I posted several months ago...

Catering to sports car enthusiasts who have dwindling options for rowing their own gears, Toyota Motor Corp. is adding a new six-speed manual transmission to the GR Supra coupe for the 2023 model year.

The optional transmission was developed specifically for the GR Supra, and will be paired with the car's inline-six, 3.0-liter, 382 hp engine, Toyota said Thursday.

Where's our 6 spd manual????????

Wow

Isn’t production of the current Z4 ending in a couple of years? Talk about polar opposite approaches.

I think the supra looks pretty sweet and now with a manual? Oh man I might have to pick one up. I've heard the B58 is super reliable too.

Wonder if they will put in the S58 before production ends? Then it would be the spiritual successor to the M coupe.

Rumors been swirling for awhile the supposed GRMN Supra is going to come with the S58, but that's all speculations

Think current zupra is slatted only to go to 24 or 26 as well. On launch they stated upgrades planned for each year or two that in production.

B58 is a nice damn engine. So smooth and powerful. Even the 335hp version. It really feels like it has way more. I can't imagine how good the combo will be in a Supra with a stick. This car is gonna be epic! Its probably a good idea to reserve one now and figure out how to pay for it later Worst case you give up your spot and get deposit back.

Hope for 2023 manual edition they bring back the parking brake handle instead of the electronic crap

beast engine

I love how refined my 2019 B54 engine is and it is definitely not 355 hp, as much as I love the raw power of the Z4 I also think it would be awesome to have a manual in modern car. I had a porsche 2015 gts manual and hated it as it hit 76 mpg in second gear..I know the supra will be perfect..
