Shhh!

I have a friend who's a CA at a BMW dealer and he told me he just got some new intel about this: http://www.bmwblog.com/2011/10/26/ru...tion%E2%80%8E/.

Yes, based on the date of this blog entry, it's an old rumor, but consider it revived.

I have no other details at all, including a timeframe, so I can't answer any further questions. Speculate away!

Unless it has the E92 M3's S65 V8 it wouldn't work for me. That would be a dream car.

If they do an M version of the E89 does that mean they're going to kill off the E89? They might end up killing off the Z4 for the Z2 in a few years if they make an M version...

My friend was at a party 2 weekends ago in PA and sent me a text saying he just drove the brand new Z4M (knowing that I owned an older version and would be pysched to hear about it). Apparently the guy just bought it cash (ran into a bunch of $$) a few days before. I'm trying to get the picture off my phone that he sent, a really sharp blue color, 19s in rear, 18s up front with 300 something horse. He didn't know much else about it though... Unfortunately the picture he sent has the door open and in the way of the front rocker panel, BUT you can faintly see the ///M on the door sill.

M door sills is a factory option. One of the reasons I'm not a fan of throwing badges on the car if it isn't actually labeled as an M model.

Probably M Sport Package.

My E82 128i is a M Sport Package and has M labeled on the wheels, door sills, steering wheel, shift knob...etc

Sorry but that's hilarious he got excited about purchasing a car that doesn't exist. I hope the salesman didn't tell him he just bought the new Z4 M....

lol - that's funny. I can sell you some M stickers too, if it makes you happy.

As for a new Z4 M ... I'd speculate that (a) it would be inappropriate given the weight of the E89, and (b) far too late in the product cycle to introduce an M now. People will go zzzzzzzzzzz. Not going to happen in my view.

If they do a final run of the E89 by introducing a M model with the S65 V8, then I'll be all over it. I wouldn't be interested in a turbo charged model.
