Boxster at Lowe's today

Not really Z4 related, but as I was driving to work in my M today I saw a late model Boxster exiting the local Lowes parking lot. It too had the top down(cool), but the problem was he had the passenger side loaded down with lumber sticking way above the windshield header. He at least had some plastic wrap over the seat and roll bar hoop. Wish I could have snapped a pic. Personally I would have rented a truck for 30 minutes and left my car at the store while I delivered the wood home.

I used to do this all the time with my S2000! 8' pieces of 1x1, 1x2, 1x4, and 2x4. Also 1/2" and 3/4" PVC. I've also brought home garden implements like shovels, push brooms, rakes, etc. I just made sure that I had old towels to place anywhere it would contact leather and/or plastic. It' one of the advantages of a roadster!

Just last week I brought home a pool vac and the only place that it would fit (barely) was in the passenger seat. I think the long box, with the suction hoses accounting for the length, stuck up past the headrest.

I guess it depends partly on how far you live from the store. It also hardly seems worth it to pay $20 plus mileage plus gas and double your time. The other alternative is to own an SUV or pickup truck.

only vehicle

You'd be surprised what I've managed to squeeze into the Moupe. If a little lumber concerns you, you wouldn't want to hear. Ingenuity, my good man. Especially when it's your only vehicle.

the only concern i would have is the lumber shifting too much and giving the driver a good whack in the face. otherwise ive done similar stuff with my z4m

When I was moving out of my place in Bellingham a couple years ago everything was packed in the truck and I had no choice but to do a dump run in my 3.0si coupe. The person manning the gate at the dump said "What are you doing HERE with THAT???" It was pretty full.

Heck with that! Depending on the load, I have an F150 and an F350 dually.
Even have a forklift at home that my wife won't let me sell, cause we use it too much.
Move south, everybody here loves their pick'm up trucks!! (Read with a twang)
(And I let my truckless friends borrow them, of course)

That said, when I moved to college, I was able to fit all my personal belongings in a Civic hatchback.

One time when I had an MGB for my one and only car, I bought a 6' ladder at home depot and drove home top down with it sticking straight up from behind the seats...

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...

Seems like a pretty easy solution to this, don't bring home fat chicks?

You have a BMW Z4 M Roadster and you have to resort to picking up fat chicks? Something else must be wrong. How's your personal hygiene?
