Still waiting for RE to ship the RTAB's. Ordered at the same time? No correspondence from RE?

I've found a third supplier of offset bushings beside the previously found superflex and bavarian auto/whiteline offset bushings.
http://www.nolathane.com.au/
They're maybe affiliated with whiteline? (both australian and some drawings are in the same style)
Edit: they're based at the same address.....

Strangely they (nolathane) have 2 variants of the 66mm offset bushings:
http://www.nolathane.com.au/product_...t_number=45553
http://www.nolathane.com.au/product_...t_number=45555

the 45555 have "LH offset - RH standard alignment" whatever that means.... (a lefthand offset bushing and righthand non offset?!? does that work?!? )

Hey shipkiller,

How did these work out?

I bought a set of these, but never installed them.

Any issues?

Thanks..

I think these are actually Whiteline N52606 bushings. These are very stout.

The bushings on the car before removal.

I have a three jaw puller. Pulls the bushing right off..

Pressing out the bushing.

Cleaning up the carrier. Removing burrs and such.

Placing and aligning the new bushing to be pressed back into the carrier. The alignment mark on the bushing must be aligned with the alignment mark on the carrier.

Because the bushing fits rather snug on the end of the control arm (worse than a virgin on prom night), you need a tool to get them on the arm. A HAMMER is not enough and you risk damaging the ball joints on the control arm.

I manufactured a tool similar to the $200 BMW tool for $8.00 in parts from HomeDepot. It only took around 45 minutes to make.

I have had them on the car for a year and numerous track days. No issues.. Just a PIA to install.

Am I to understand that the Superflex bushings are easier to install given the multi-piece design? If I have to make special tools to bolt in the lollipop, I may not be interested in this as a DIY job.

Thanks in advance!

You need a 3 arm puller to get the bushing off of the control arm regardless which bush you use.
If you want easy, just get OE with bush and lollipop complete

Anything else you will also have to press out the old bush from the lollipop before pressing in a new one.

Oh, Pal, these were offset bushings.
Thanks inTgr8r.

I was referring to Shipkiller's post above. He seemed to be implying that the 2-piece units might be easier to reinstall.

I figured I would get a machine shop to press out the old bushings and press in the new ones. I just didn't want to get everything back together and find out that I couldn't bolt the lollipop back onto the car without fabricating tools.

I have 50K miles on the M Coupe, and I'm trying to figure out how far I want to go with a suspension refresh. My FCABs actually look fine, but while I'm in there doing struts...

If you are using stock FCABs, the you should have no issues getting them back on.

If you look closely at the pictures, I am not using anything near stock, so they are really, really stiff, and I had a hell of a time getting the bolt holes to line up.

The 'Whiteline's' I used are stiffer than the Superflex or Powerflex FCABs.
