#1 You're OK
#2 Being OK, you can deal with anything else even though it may be a serious pain in the backside. #3 Take your time and carefully consider your options.

Sorry to hear about your ride, agree with the Cayman vs the C4S, but driving the E92 M3, it is no slouch, you may want to check it out before the S65 is no more.

The adjuster had a chance to look the car over and only sees ~$15k worth of damage. They're flat-bedding it to the better collision place in the area where they'll inspect for any additional damage to motor and/or frame/structure of the car. The adjuster said that unless the dollar-amount of damage is greater than 75% of the vehicle worth or there's frame damage, they won't be totalling it. I'll know more in the coming days. Perhaps she won't be driving off into the sunset just yet.

I'm so glad to hear that she might not be totalled. I'll have my little red baby say a silent prayer for Ruby's recovery tonight. I'm guessing it can't hurt.... As everyone else said, glad to hear you're OK - gotta love the safety factor of the BMWs.

Hey I didn't know we had knee airbags, cool.
Good thing its a lease! It's going to be hard for BMW to resell it with a major accident. Old people should have to take driving tests once a year.

E92 M3 = 3600 lbs and 16 MPG = It won't be long before premium gas is back to $4 per gallon. It's a nice car, but my F150 gets better gas mileage.

He said earlier somewhere there was only an estimated 15K of damage so it is probably getting repaired.

Yes, but he also said this was just the insurance adjusters estimate. Often the body shop finds issues which couldn't be seen until the car is torn down. We had a Touareg which was hit low speed in the rear. The original estimate was around $2,500(looked pretty minor), it ended up around $4K and was never right again.

I stopped by the collision place (they handle all the Porsche/Jag/BMW/Lexus repair for the main dealership here and I verified they were BMW-Approved) to find out that while the car had been there since Tuesday, they were given incorrect contact information for me and had no way to contact me to get my release for them to touch the vehicle. So it ended up being a good thing I stopped by. So I suppose they'll start today tearing things down to examine deeper. I left a note for the service advisor letting him know how well the car was taken care of and what I expected (perfection) as far as repair goes (but I did it in a sincere/heart-felt way not an a$$-hole way).

Looks to be totaled.
Just got back from visiting Ruby again. Things definitely aren't looking good. The advisor said the frame is damaged and the front of the car is shifted to the left. The damage estimate is up to over 22K and that's not even with the proper parts which are likely to be more expensive (because of the rarity of the car they didn't have all the part numbers in their system so they're waiting on prices for a number of things from the local dealer. So, suffice to say, things are leaning in the totaled direction. Just waiting to hear the final word from the insurance adjuster.

That's making me sick to my stomach. I'm hoping to get mine to Dallas next week and I was hoping to meet up with some local Ms like yourself. Hope it all works out for the best. Was the engine damaged in the crash? If it gets totaled out, you might be able to buy it back and part it out.
