Don't mean to revive an old tread but I would have to agree with you. The guy starts the thread acting like he picked the Z4 M knowing fully well that he was going to buy an '10 Z4 in the first place. And when responses weren't heaping praises on the new car he got defensive and unnecessarily rude. What a sensitive cry baby!

I own neither, but plan to buy a roadster in the near future and have driven both of them extensively. I will be buying a Z4 M because IMO it feels and drives like proper sports car should.

Neither was the current N54 block. But when BMW conceived the idea of the twin turbos, they opted to the older all aluminum E46 block as they believed it to be stronger and therefore a better match than the aluminum/magnesium block.

As for the new Z4, well...I don't find it a step up in any aspect I value. The lines are confusing, the motor is good but not great, and the thing is just too luxury-inspired to be a contender. Best to not compare the non-Ms to Ms. Completely different purpose.

I think it was always destined to be a marketing failure. The only thing it has going for it is the fact you can buy it as a current year new model.

So would I, except I never would have considered the new Z4 in the first place. It's about as ugly as a 135i. Of course, ugly is the trend of BMW these days.
