TPMS Question

I bought some new wheels for my '06 M Roadster and I am trying to find out if it uses the internal TPMS that attaches to the wheel/valve stem or if it uses the indirect TPMS that is integrated with the ABS sensor. I purchased the internal TPMS system but now I am unsure whether or not I need them. The last 7 of my VIN is LY52461. I looked on RealOEM.com to see if would differentiate there but it doesn't. I've read several posts here saying that the 2006 cars didn't use internal TPMS and while I would like that to be correct (so I can get a refund) I want to be sure - no annoying dash lights please. Any help would be much appreicated.

Edit: I also looked at the Z4M production info spreadsheet for my car and it has a 0 in the "TYRE PRESSURE MONITOR (S2VBA)" column. Does that mean it does NOT have the internal setup?

If you have a 06 then you don't need the TPMS that on the wheels. Only 07 and above have TPMS on the wheels.

^+1, u will not require the tpms sensors as ur car monitors for a flat tire through the abs sensors.

Just to follow up, I got a call back from the shop foreman at my (semi) local BMW dealership and he confirmed that Z4s and Z4Ms produced starting in October of 2006 were swapped over to the internal TPMS setup. The valve stem is the quick way to see what type of system you have. Rubber valve stem = external ABS/TPMS, metal valve stem = internal TPMS.
