Angry Pesky drink holders

How hard is it to replace the drink holders on the 2003 Z4.

It's pretty easy actually. I've had to replace one of mine. What side do you need? It's really straight forward. Should be 2 screws one around the vent with a rubber cap over it, and one behind the cup holder piece if I remember correctly. I ended up getting another one of those caps because I mangled mine getting it off. After you get the screws out the whole unit comes out. Then you can take the old cup holder assembly off of the vent and swap for the new one.

Stop using them and get two ultimate cup holders. One of the better mods for a Z4.

This is what I did too. I also "deleted" the broken cupholder with a replacement cover.

But if OP is set on replacing them, it is very easy to do.

I've hardly ever used the standard cup holders in the couple of months I've had mine. Practically screamed when the wife started looking at the one on her side. lol. Such a fragile design and completely flawed.

+3, used blank covers and picked up ultimate cup holders which I eventually sold, now no drinks allowed in car!
