Center Latch Loop for Hood?
I apologize if this has been asked before. I couldn't find it when I searched.
I bought a used 2008 Z4 3.0si Coupe recently. I've been going over the car to check things out. Found some minor missing parts, like one of the lift blocks, no big deal. However, with the hood, I know there are two latching loops on the sides of the hood, but there is also a threaded bung in the center of the hood at the front where it looks like a 3rd latching loop would go. The clasping hold on the body side however, has no movable parts to grab on to a 3rd loop if it were there. Does the Z4 Coupe hood have a third, center latching loop? RealOEM doesn't show one in the parts diagram. And yes my car does have the center safety release catch, which operates fine. Just wondering if there is supposed to be a center catch loop. Thanks in advance. |

Some Z4 had a centre latch only.
I thought it was only the M hoods that had the side loops, but apparently the si coup does as well. Bottom line, if you have the side latches, there is no centre latch. Your car isn't missing anything.
